Reasons to Learn French

Preparation for School

Adequately prepare your child for their French program at school or enrich their French immersion experience.

Bilingualism & Opportunities

The official languages of Canada are English and French. Knowing French provides a huge advantage for future opportunities.

Complementary Learning

Learning French aids the learning of other languages. Some studies show that ~45% of the English vocabulary originates from French. Learn French to boost your English!

International Language & Travel

French is spoken on all five continents and is the official language in 29 countries. Due to the rise of French in Africa, it is one of the fastest-growing languages in the world.

LWL’s Whole Language Learning Approach

In our English classrooms, children are not taught to memorize individual vocabulary words simply. So why do that for French?

Aside from our French cue cards and worksheet activities focusing on sentence structure, pronouns, grammar, verb conjugation, our curriculum also incorporates French books, songs, and hands-on projects. Students make meaning through taking risks, predicting, and self-correcting.

We Provide Video Homework Review

We listened to parents’ concerns about being unable to assist their child’s French learning. We created something unique and valuable to our French program to combat this. After each beginner and intermediate class, students receive videos reviewing their stories, cue cards, and sentences. These can be used multiple times for extra practice!
